Commercial Director

Position Overview
The Commercial Director is responsible for leading the commercial strategy and revenue growth of Doha Golf Club by maximizing the value of its assets, partnerships, and customerexperience offerings. The role will oversee all revenue generating functions including membership, hospitality, events, partnerships, sponsorships, retail, and commercial leasing, while supporting the club’s strategic transformation into a multi-sport, lifestyle, and tourism destination operating year-round.
The Commercial Director will work closely with the General Manager, Board, and key stakeholders to drive sustainable financial performance, expand the club’s market reach, and position Doha Golf Club as a premier destination for sports, leisure, and community engagement in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
Develop and implement the club’s commercial strategy aligned with long-term growth objectives.
Identify and activate new revenue streams including hospitality, sports facilities, retail, events, tourism partnerships, and land utilization opportunities.
Drive membership growth, retention, and premium member experiences.
Optimize pricing strategies, packages, and offerings to maximize revenue across all business units.
Partnerships, Sponsorships & Business Development
Secure and manage strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and commercial colla
borations.
Develop relationships with corporates, institutions, hospitality brands, sports or
ganizations, and tourism stakeholders.
Structure and negotiate commercial agreements, joint ventures, and long-term leasing opportunities.Events, Hospitality & Destination Programming
Lead the commercial development of sports tournaments, corporate events, entertainment programming, and lifestyle experiences.
Position the club as a year-round destination for sports, leisure, and community engagement.
Develop partnerships with hospitality operators, event organizers, and tourism bodies.
Asset & Land Commercialization
Identify opportunities to activate underutilized land and facilities through commercial developments, partnerships, or events.
Support projects related to sports academies, wellness, hospitality, and destinat
ion experiences.
Ensure optimal return on investment (ROI) from club assets.
Financial Performance & Reporting
Manage revenue targets, budgets, and commercial performance metrics.
Provide regular financial forecasts, performance analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior management and the board.
Monitor profitability across business units and identify opportunities for optimization.
Marketing, Branding & Customer Experience
Work with marketing teams to strengthen the club’s brand positioning locally and internationally.
Ensure the club delivers premium customer experiences aligned with its positioning as a flagship golf and lifestyle destination.
Support initiatives that enhance community engagement and tourism appeal.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Sports
Management, or a related field.
Experience
10+ years of senior commercial leadership experience, preferably within:
o Hospitality
o Sports and leisure
o Destination developmento Private clubs or golf operations
o Luxury lifestyle sectors
Proven experience in:
o Revenue growth and commercial strategy
o Sponsorship and partnership development
o Large-scale events and hospitality operations
o Negotiation and contract management
